    cold outside, warm in the car
    was sleeping and when i woke up i saw this
    it was almost as though the sky was covered in snow

    the ocean is just so stunning
    especially on a day like today, on an empty beach with calm water
 

perfect day for hangar.

    overslept this morning (alarm didn't go off) so i never ended up going into work
    sort of threw off my entire morning, but made it to MIKE'S and off to virginia beach
    it was a long drive and a long time sitting around waiting
    but after some pretty good music from three other groups
    THOMAS and the band got up and put on an amazing show
    as usual, but the stage and lights were beautiful and really added a little something something.
    now we are finally at our hotel (really glad we don't have to drive back home tonight)

    late night driving and stuff
    worked late, will be waking early
    then off to virginia beach for a kid architect show
    and then stopping at the beach at a confluence site
    in order to shoot for a documentary project
    i'm sure i'll be posting more about that

005 our humble opinion

    SURPRISE, it's a beer today
    KEVIN at work was raving about it, picked it up every 10 minutes saying, "the NECTAR"
    so i thought maybe THOMAS would enjoy it
    to my surprise he did not
    and even MORE to my surprise, i did
    to an extent, at least i didn't find it all that terrible (and i don't like beer)
    only $4, very hoppy (or so i've been told, i don't really know anything)

004 our humble opinion

    THOMAS, "it has an abrasive, yet full texture" he sips again, "i almost want to say
    like smokey... smokey... smokey onassis"
    i definitely agree. it's an odd flavor. almost sweet, then suddenly not.
    it's a little confusing, but rather delcious.

perfect day for man.

    more specifically, MY MAN, i love him
    and he looks really good in his yellow pants
    and he also looks really good covered in snow

perfect day for storm.

    driving home from school with THOMAS
    and the weather is changing constantly
    it's sort of weird seeing rain change to snow and then to hail and to sleet
    all in a few minutes

perfect day for work.

    it was fairly busy during the day at work this afternoon
    but got pretty slow in the evening
    so i brought a stool to the box wall and sat

perfect day for the bus.

    back to bus riding
    i don't always enjoy the walk to the bus and the walk across campus
    to get to and from classes, mostly because of it being so darn cold outside!
    but i do enjoy actually riding the bus
    i really like sitting where i can watch people's faces
    when they look at the new people getting on the bus
    it's very interesting to me

perfect day for lauren.

         she doesn't usually like getting her picture taken
         and in the past it never seemed like photos could truly capture her
         maybe because she was already set on the picture not coming out good

         but she said today that she's been okay with and even liked pictures of herself recently
         which is maybe why it was so easy to photograph her today
         and they all came out just ridiculously gorgeous
         almost as pretty as her real life self

perfect day for presents.

     THOMAS got home shortly after i returned from leesburg
     bearing gifts naturally, he is always full of surprises
     i was expecting the external hard drive, or at least thought maybe i could expect it
     was not expecting oklahoma, that was a nice surprise
     he knows i've had the urge to watch it for quite a while now and hadn't been able to
     and then a cute pack with four different lens filters
     and he says more on the way!
     it was up to me what we were going to do tonight, cause i'm the birthday girl
     i decided we would stay in, and order out, and watch clone wars. duh.

perfect day for freezing.

     after chatting it up at the open house, and getting all pumped up about our future
     we went running around outside like crazy children
     slowly losing all feeling in our limbs

perfect day for wedgewood.

    after lunch with LAUREN, we both walked down the street
    to the wedgewood collective open house
    what an amazing studio space, i'm so excited for them both
    LAUREN and i already decided to invite ourselves over
    some day soon, with a picnic lunch in hand
    REBEKAH and CARRIE gave me a box of seriously amazing looking cupcakes
    the best i've ever seen
    i will gorge myself on them tonight

perfect day for sandwiches.

       headed into leesburg
       and LAUREN took me out to lunch at a cute little shop
       and we got some yummy sandwiches
       also this was my first attempt with the polaroid camera
       we were both basically just guessing with the settings

perfect day for polaroid.

    LAUREN bought me three packs of polaroid film for my camera!
    i finally get to see if it works! so excited to snap some photos today
    a wonderful birthday present
    she also bought me something else, but i'm not going to reveal that
    it will be a surprise for anyone who comes over the house to visit
    i am currently grinning very sneakily

perfect day for cake.

    ate a most fabulous and delicious dinner at my parents home
    curried salmon soup, and a yummy salad and bread
    they surprised me with cake
    the famous DANA CONRAD nutella cake
    my favorite, she even made me a mini one to take home
    and told me not to eat the entire thing tonight
    she will be happy to know that i haven't touched it

     yet.

perfect day for fog.

    seriously a ridiculous amount of fog out tonight
    worked late, and went grocery shopping with my babes
    never a good idea to shop hungry
    but you know

perfect day for musicals.

    no work for THOMAS and me today
    slept in and watched little shop of horrors this morning
    neither of know why, but we had to finish it
    went with LAUREN to starbucks to meet a client for day-of wedding coordination
    turns out, we had met each other at her friend / my neighbor's graduation party
    a long while back, both she and her mom recognized me
    it was a wonderful meeting, and i am really excited to work with her
    now home with my husband which is great
    but out of ice cream, which is bad

perfect day for robots.

    went down to national harbor with kid architect to shoot band photos
    BRANDON came with me to help me shoot, and we got some pretty awesome photos

    yes, buffy
    don't hate
    it's joss whedon
    and THOMAS and i love firefly
    so we are going to start working our way through buffy the vampire slayer
    already we are really enjoying the 90s feel

    also, the moon was really lovely tonight
    nothing like this picture
    all full of clouds, but they were nice and thin and looked exactly like
    pulled apart cotton balls, but in a very geometrical pattern
    and soft light shinning all around
 

perfect day for decisions.

    one of the good things about being older, is that when it comes to clothing:
    we become a little pickier
    as a child, i could walk into a store and pick something off every rack
    that i thought i wanted and that i would wear
    then i wouldn't wear it
    THOMAS and i were talking about how we can go into a store now
    and can walk out with nothing
    because we couldn't really find that perfect something
    i like that

    tasted it with THOMAS
    not only in our wine glasses, but i also used it in our food
    pop-eye pasta, which we shared with our friends CHRIS and RICHELLE
    i could have chugged this wine, it went down so smoothly
    as usual, fresh and fruity tasting, but it had a nice spicy tangy sort of element, mmm yum
    anyways, had a wonderful time with the PITTMANS
    lots of chatting, we could have chatted for days

perfect day for ghosts.

    it's not very enjoyable being home all by myself
    while i am getting lots of things done, i prefer another presence
    i make ghosts when it's just me, because i hear every little noise that i would normally ignore
  
    but i'm blasting old high school music and cleaning and getting ready to have
    some friends over for dinner
    so that's good

perfect day for heather.

    HEATHER is heading back to liberty on saturday
    but i got to steal her away for the whole day to hang out with me
    we did lame things together like errands and laundry
    she was probably bored
    but i fed her lots of ice cream and also a candy cane, so all is right with the world
    i am going to miss her lots when she leaves again

     DAN, NAOMI, little STEPHEN, and CHRIS over to eat dinner
     really nice having lots of voices and lots of faces to interact with
     sat around with NAOMI talking about life and photography and family
     and tried to glean some of CHRIS'S photoshop knowledge
     wonderful relaxing evening
     dishes are all done, going to put my pj's on and
     see if THOMAS will be interested in setting aside the caps game for some clone wars ;)

     realized generally what type of wine i tend to enjoy
     and decided to branch out and buy a few new sorts
     brought this one to LAUREN'S to share

     heavy aromas, dark fruitiness, yes definitely a smoky flavor
     and as always, easy to drink

     MIKE and CLINT over to watch football, or hockey, or something like that

     which is to be expected

perfect day for laundry.

    we have a two-in-one washer dryer in our apartment
    and it is a dreadful machine
    doesn't do squat
    we accepted this fact, and just complained all the time
    but just last week we discovered the laundry room downstairs.......duh
    yes, you have to pay and we didn't have very many quarters, but it dried our clothing
    in thirty minutes, whereas our machine didn't dry our clothing even after two hours
    we went down to do more the other day, and they had replaced all of the old machines
    with fancy ones that require a special card
    we panicked for a moment, then found out that all we had to do was go pick up one of these
    fancy cards from the leasing office
    so now we can do our laundry
  
    it'll be time to switch from the washer to the dryer in fifteen minutes
    in the meantime i'll sit here and eat mentos and watch more clone wars

perfect day for choices.

    woke up to a perfect layer of snow, which of course is nearly gone by now
    and headed to main street to meet RACHEL at choices for breakfast
    spent some time catching up, and headed over to fair trade winds to browse
    each bought a little something special

     i just realized how out of touch with music i've been for a while now
     in fact i don't doubt that my ipod has been out of battery power for nearly a year
     it is definitely time for a recharge
     and time for an intense search through my itunes library
     i want to discover something new

     mama and HEATHER over for the afternoon
     they came bearing presents
     lots of presents
     presents made of food
     and by presents made of food, i mean just food
     hooray for food
    
     now sitting on the couch with my love watching clone wars
     and talking about what God has given to us... we are so blessed

     YODA and i are cleaning the closet today
     upon moving in, THOMAS and i shoved most things in here
     i can now walk all the way inside
     also, took down all christmas decorations this morning
     which is always a little sad

     an early start at work today, but left at a nice time and went to the in-laws house for dinner

    left new york this morning around six, and arrived back home in a record five hours
    jumped in the shower and got ready for a lunch date with RACHEL
    ate some yummy foods at cheesecake factory and then did a little shopping
    sat around and caught up for a while, then she took off
    no more than ten minutes later, my mama and HEATHER came by
    with salad and bread and kale and yummy things
    and mama asked me if she could do the dishes (which i said yes)
    we watched minority report and then THOMAS came home
    and i was happy to see him.

perfect day for a visitor.

     received an unexpected visitor this evening
     he just stopped by

     we convinced him to come home with us
     we'll give him a position as door keeper, to greet our guests
