Spent the evening with Lauren, Susannah, Thomas, Josue, and Kiera at our new most favorite spot in Alexandria painting trim and sharing celebratory toasts. I mostly just taped windows.

r&r hotel.
Babe had two shows this weekend. Which was quite hard on him since he's been having all this extra back pain the past month or so. So I was happy to make it to both last night's show in Manassas, as well as tonight's show at the Rock and Roll Hotel in D.C. The mix was spot on and they sounded fantastic. Was nice to see so many familiar faces and hear all the other great bands as well.

peonies.
These flowers are just beyond gorgeous. I could stare at them all day long. I find myself being extra happy when I am around such things as these.

flowers all day.
Went to sleep so early last night, and still slept in. Felt so refreshed this morning. Took off to Wollam Gardens in Jeffersonton a short while later to pick up some flowers, then zipped over to Lauren's to drop them off. I received a voicemail from Lauren telling to me to raid her fridge for lunch, which I agreed to very happily. Helped myself to a bowl of grilled veggies and some seriously scrumptious shrimp. Then took off to Potomac to pick up the rest of the flowers for this weekend, and back to Lauren's to process them! Was a very busy flower day. I can't wait to see Lauren work her magic!

rainy day.
Last week, Lauren and I peaked about a small flower market just to touch and smell. On a rainy, busy day like today, a place like this is most appealing. Sitting in Northside Social typing and chilling waiting for Lauren to arrive. Ate a yummy breakfast sandwich and some white bean soup. So tasty! I love this place. Was visiting a venue this morning with two awesome clients, Kristina and Aby. And going back over to their place in a little while to talk about their wedding day. Right now all I can think of is getting off this stool and finding a comfy chair!

abandoned.
Abandoned houses are the scenes for all sorts of not so fantastic things, but Lauren and I get so excited when we pass run down, abandoned houses. We just like them I guess. This is a house Lauren has been a fan of for some time. Our most recent drive by we saw someone outside working around the house. Now there are mixed feelings.

centerpieces.
Working with Lori, Lauren, and Jeanie to put together some ideas for wedding centerpieces for a while, and at the end of it all, this is what we came up with! Ended up fitting the space perfectly and was the simple touch that Jeanie was looking for. Had a blast setting them up with Lori, Mary, and Emy, and got rave reviews. Which was pretty exciting. Read more to see some other photos!

road trip.
Driving with Thomas and Mary up to Georgia today for cousin Jeanie's wedding! Good chatting, good music, good foods and good weather. So looking forward to seeing family.

rocking chair.
Can I explain how happy I am to finally have this rocking chair? I don't think I can. It's so comfortable and perfect, and I am over the moon. Anybody want to come over and rock?

lamp shade.
More chipping away on the baby room. While out thrifting on Monday, I snagged this lampshade. Simple and plain, but works perfectly with the lamp Lauren's mama sent up from Florida for me to have. Been looking a while for a lampshade that has the clip-on sort of attachment that slides over the lightbulb. Hooray!

exploring.
A little extra shot from when Lauren and I went on our antiquing road trip yesterday. We got the chance to stop at one of her favorite little shooting spots. Love this old building!

treasure hunting.
Planned to spend the day with Lauren, but our plans suddenly became epic when she called in the morning and we decided to adventure out to Ruckersville to hunt for antique treasures! Was definitely a spontaneous decision that made for lots of laughs, foods, and bargainings.

engaged.
Spent the afternoon with this awesome couple doing engagement photos. Their wedding is in October, and I'm so excited for it! Was a great adventure time, and I've been chipping away at editing this evening.

patterns.
Got to spend a quiet morning with Thomas. He left for an afternoon and evening with the guys, to do guy things, so I zipped about the area looking ahead at some spots to take Katie and Paul for their engagement shoot tomorrow. Found an ASOS package on the door mat when I got home. This fun patterned dress will go super great with a pair of wild heels I have never worn. Look at me. All excited.

red tile prints.
My Red Tile Studio prints came in. The package had a huge rip in it, and all the edges were very bent, but the prints survived! Very relieved, and can't wait to find a good spot to hang these. I was thinking by the future rocking chair.

just relax.
While it was a busy weekend–in some ways–driving to see family and going on shopping and church outings. The warm weather and the sweet conversation and time with all the Bridgwood family this Easter Sunday. Warm light, cool wind, good food, and nice naps.
good thoughts.
"Your heart will never be satisfied by anything in this world. Your heart is too big for this world."
easter basket.
Stayed the night in Fredericksburg. Woke up to Easter basket filled with goodies for the Bridgwood clan. A little something for baby girl too. Church service in Old Town. The whole family together.

honey chicken.
Honey chicken, steamed asparagus, and scalloped potatoes for dinner. This chicken is one of my super favorites. Recipe below.
baby socks.
Is there anything cuter than little lacy baby socks? I don't doubt that I'll think my baby is far more adorable, but at this current moment, I am quite taken. I love baby socks. Yesterday was 26 weeks, time is just flying by.

sky watching.
Was an odd day. Had a yummy lunch outing with a friend. Got to spend all sorts of time with Thomas relaxing. The weather was so beautiful. Still feel sort of strange. The porch was calling me again. Birds chirping. Moon glowing.

oven roasted kale.
Decided on some oven roasted kale for tonight. I love green vegetables. I've always loved them. Now I just need my husband home to share them with.
fresh asparagus.
Considering what to make for dinner tonight and all I can think about is the amazing food I got to eat last night with Lauren and the group in DC. The asparagus had been picked that day and got roasted in the oven. Going to the grocery store to pick up some asparagus just doesn't seem right anymore.

flower people.
Our new friend Bob opened up his house in DC to a happy little group of local flower farmers and designers. Feeling so grateful to get to spend time with these wonderful people. Arrived in time to help fill vases with fresh flowers and place them around the room and Lauren was set to help with food in the kitchen, cooking up fresh local produce. Wine and apple cider was passed about, and everyone gathered to chat life, flowers, and the future.

hanging prints.
Bedroom curtains are really having an affect on me. Or maybe it's the pregnancy. Feeling the need to organize, spruce, hang and tidy the house. Just put up these three prints. Some of my favorites from a collection of Russian sketches that my family somehow came in possession of while we lived in Moscow. These were the three least creepy and rather pleasant of the bunch, and I've had them stashed away waiting for the perfect slice of wall.
paint chips.
I had a better idea of what sort of color I wanted in the baby room before I went to look at paint chip colors. Now I'm more confused than ever. I went to look for grey chips, which I found and brought home, along with some that have a bit more color in them. I think my favorite of these at the moment is the one on the far left.

polka dots.
The porch is somewhere that I should really spend more time at. It's a good place to think and to listen and to stand. I was out there today. Realized I could no longer see my toes when I looked straight down. But I like this view better than my feet. I wonder when the full weight of pregnancy will dawn on me. I find it just a little difficult to grasp that there is a human child inside of my belly.
